Shortmat Bowls


Shortmat Indoor Bowls is a sport which originated in Ireland in 1920 and is currently being played by almost one thousand clubs with thirty thousand participants. All the clubs are affiliated to the Irish Indoor Bowling Association. The Cork Zone have over fifty clubs with over one thousand players ranging in age from ten to ninety years.


St. Anthony’s teams consist of players from fifth and sixth classes. 


Shortmat Indoor Bowls takes place every Wednesday in the School gym from 2.30pm to 3.30pm under the watchful guidance of Jack Lynch Senior. All equipment is provided.


St. Anthony’s also have a very successful adult club and will be open during the Summer months for all ages on Wednesday evenings 8.00pm to 9.30pm.

St. Anthony's B.N.S. will close on Friday 7th April for the Easter Holidays @ 12 noon.The School will re-open on Monday 24th April @ 8.50 am. We wish all Staff, Pupils and their families a Happy Easter!
